Weddings weddings and more weddings

I have been excited to be doing more weddings lately. I have my first "traveling" wedding in August. I am seriously looking forward to it.  I am praying protection over all my equipment, flights, etc... I think that's pretty much the only thing I am feeling nervous about, someone's big day depending solely on me to capture these memories in a one time shot, and if anything goes wrong with the equipment aaaaahhhhhh!!!!! But I love how the more weddings and photo shoots I do the more comfortable I feel each time. More free to express myself  through my photos more creativity flowing, nerves chilling out. It's wonderful! :)

Bring on the weddings baby! :)

Sister photo shoot

This was so much fun, drawing out my lovely sister Autumn through photography, and helping her to see and be reminded of the beauty she has inside and out! Love you sis.

Life through Photography

Yes, that's me, I did have my husband take one.  He's practicing for our next wedding shoot. ;)
I really enjoy the freedom of digital.  You can really just click and decide after you have taken the shot. I have had so much fun just experimenting with whatever catches my eye.  I know my children are so used to me shooting photos with them in every stage of life. If they aren't comfortable behind the camera, I don't know who can be.

With out light it's pointless!

Lighting is everything! You can have so much fun with light. With out light, it's pointless. Kinda makes me think of another Light we can't live with out, with out His Light our Life is pointless.

Capturing Personality

I really enjoyed this photo shoot with my son. I recognize recently that I don't usually take as much time or focus when photographing my kids, because I know I always take photos of them.  But I wanted to make a concerted effort to act as if it were a shoot.  It was really quite fun, and KNOWING my son so well, I wanted to see if I am doing a good job at capturing personality...and I was pretty pleased!

Thanks for stopping by!

I discovered Manual Mode. :)

I was always quite hesitant to use manual mode on my camera because it was too extreme: way too dark or way too light! Well I was just afraid to adjust it to such extremes.  I would continue turning my knob to about 500 shutter speed from 2500, and think I was being generous with the turns. WELL....as I found out, you need to crank that baby all the way! You can actually look at the settings from "A" mode (aperature) and do something similar in manual mode.  I have found that there's more ability to make weird light work instead of having the camera automatically try to compensate for what it thinks the adjustments need to be, which are usually too extreme!  I noticed that Jasmine Star regularly uses manual mode, so that's what inspired me to give it  a try!
